The Acceso Científico Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and any form of scientific misconduct, in order to safeguard academic integrity, the originality of publications, and ethical standards in scientific research.

The journal promotes a culture of intellectual honesty, transparency, and respect for intellectual property. Therefore, all manuscripts submitted for evaluation must be original, unpublished, and prepared in accordance with recognized principles of good research and scientific publication practices.

Definition of Plagiarism

For editorial purposes, plagiarism is defined as the unauthorized appropriation or use of ideas, data, texts, results, or materials from other authors without proper academic attribution. This practice constitutes a serious violation of scientific integrity and may occur in several forms, including but not limited to:

Direct plagiarism:
Literal reproduction of text fragments, paragraphs, or entire documents without quotation marks or proper citation of the original source.

Paraphrasing plagiarism:
Rewriting, adapting, or reformulating ideas or arguments from other authors without proper citation or acknowledgment.

Self-plagiarism:
Total or partial reuse of previously published work by the same authors without proper citation or editorial authorization. This includes redundant or duplicate publication of substantially similar content.

Idea plagiarism:
Use of concepts, theoretical models, hypotheses, methodologies, or research approaches developed by other researchers without academic acknowledgment.

Data or material plagiarism:
Use of research results, datasets, tables, figures, images, or any other scientific material without proper authorization or citation of the original source.

Similarity Detection

All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo verification through specialized academic similarity detection software in order to identify possible textual overlaps with previously published documents.

The Acceso Científico Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal uses similarity detection tools such as Compilatio, which allow the evaluation of textual matches between the submitted manuscript and sources available in academic databases and digital repositories.

A similarity index may be considered acceptable when it corresponds exclusively to:

  • Properly cited quotations

  • Bibliographic references

  • Technical terminology commonly used in the field

  • Standardized methodological descriptions

The final evaluation of the similarity level and its relevance will be determined by the Editorial Committee, which will analyze the context of the detected matches to determine whether they compromise the originality of the manuscript.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal are responsible for ensuring that:

  • The manuscript is original and unpublished.

  • All sources used have been properly cited and referenced.

  • The manuscript has not been submitted simultaneously to other journals.

  • Ethical principles of research and scientific publication are respected.

Authors must also ensure that they have obtained the necessary permissions to use materials protected by copyright when applicable.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or any form of scientific misconduct is detected, the journal will apply appropriate measures depending on the stage of the editorial process and the severity of the case.

Before publication

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript.

  • Formal notification to the authors regarding the detected issue.

  • Request for clarification or correction if applicable.

  • Temporary or permanent restriction on future submissions depending on the severity of the misconduct.

After publication

If plagiarism is detected after publication, the journal may take the following actions:

  • Formal retraction of the article.

  • Removal of the content from the editorial platform or clear marking of the article as retracted.

  • Publication of a retraction notice informing the academic community.

  • Notification of the authors’ affiliated institutions and relevant academic authorities when necessary.
