Ethics Policies

The Acceso Científico Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and ethics in scientific publishing. In this regard, the journal adopts and promotes internationally recognized principles of good editorial practices, following the recommendations established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

These guidelines aim to ensure scientific quality, transparency in editorial processes, and respect for ethical principles governing academic research. Therefore, all participants involved in the editorial process —authors, reviewers, editors, and the editorial team— are required to strictly comply with the ethical standards established in this policy.

Responsibilities of authors.
Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal must ensure that the work is original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal or editorial medium simultaneously. All sources used in the manuscript must be properly cited and referenced according to the journal's guidelines.

Any form of academic misconduct is considered unacceptable. This includes direct plagiarism, literal copying without citation, improper paraphrasing without reference, self-plagiarism or redundant publication, as well as the use of data, ideas, or results from third parties without proper acknowledgment. Manuscripts that incur these practices will be rejected, and the journal may apply the measures established in its editorial policies.

Authorship should be limited only to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research. Each author should have participated in the design of the study, data collection or analysis, manuscript preparation, or critical revision of its content. In addition, all authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and assume responsibility for its content. Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section.

Authors must also disclose any potential conflicts of interest, whether personal, institutional, or financial, that could influence the research results or their interpretation. Likewise, all sources of funding supporting the research must be clearly identified. If no conflicts of interest exist, this must be explicitly stated.

Regarding data availability, authors should be prepared to provide research data or supporting materials when requested by the editorial committee for verification purposes. The journal encourages the use of open academic repositories to promote transparency and reproducibility of research, provided that confidentiality or privacy obligations are not compromised.

For research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive information, authors must demonstrate that the study received approval from a recognized ethics committee and that the research was conducted in accordance with ethical research principles, including informed consent when applicable.

Authors also have the responsibility to notify the editorial team if significant errors are identified in published articles. In such cases, the journal may issue corrections, errata, or retractions as appropriate, following international standards of editorial transparency.

Responsibilities of reviewers.
Reviewers play a fundamental role in ensuring the scientific quality of the journal. Therefore, they must conduct their evaluations with objectivity, impartiality, confidentiality, and academic respect. Reviews should be constructive, well-justified, and aimed at improving the quality of the manuscript.

Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality regarding the manuscripts under evaluation and must refrain from reviewing manuscripts in which they have any conflict of interest. If reviewers detect possible ethical issues, plagiarism, or scientific misconduct, they should immediately inform the editor responsible for the manuscript.

Responsibilities of the editorial board.
The editorial board is responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent, and confidential editorial process. Editorial decisions must be based exclusively on the scientific quality, originality, and relevance of the manuscripts, without discrimination based on gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, or any factor unrelated to academic merit.

The editorial board is also responsible for selecting qualified reviewers, managing potential conflicts of interest, and addressing complaints or appeals related to editorial procedures or ethical concerns.

Commitment to scientific integrity.
The Acceso Científico Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal reaffirms its commitment to responsible research practices, editorial transparency, and respect for intellectual property. Compliance with this policy contributes to strengthening the credibility, quality, and academic impact of the journal, ensuring that published works meet internationally recognized ethical and scientific standards.
