Generative AI Policies
The Acceso Científico Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal recognizes that the development of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is progressively transforming the processes of production, analysis, and communication of scientific knowledge. These technologies may contribute to improving certain technical aspects of manuscript preparation; however, their use must be conducted responsibly, transparently, and ethically.
In order to preserve academic integrity, the originality of publications, and authorial responsibility, the journal establishes the following guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence tools in the preparation of scientific manuscripts.
Permitted use of artificial intelligence tools.
Authors may use generative artificial intelligence tools as support in specific stages of manuscript preparation, provided that such use is transparent and does not replace human intellectual contribution. Permitted uses include:
-
Improvement of language, grammar correction, style, and clarity of writing.
-
Translation of texts between different languages, provided that the final content is reviewed and validated by the authors.
-
Preliminary generation of research ideas, outlines, or conceptual approaches that are later developed through the authors’ own intellectual work.
-
Assistance in technical processes such as data organization, visualization, or computational analysis, provided that the procedures are clearly described and reproducible.
The use of these tools must be understood as technical assistance rather than a substitute for the research process, critical analysis, and scientific writing that correspond to the authors.
Non-permitted use.
The journal does not authorize the use of generative artificial intelligence tools for practices that compromise scientific integrity or authorial responsibility. In particular, the following uses are considered inappropriate:
-
Generation of fictitious data, undeclared simulations, or manipulation of research results.
-
Full manuscript generation without substantial intellectual contribution from the authors.
-
Listing artificial intelligence tools as authors of a scientific article.
-
Automatic production of literature reviews or scientific analyses without critical verification by the researchers.
Any use of AI that involves fabrication, alteration, or misrepresentation of scientific information will be considered a form of academic misconduct.
Mandatory disclosure of AI use.
When artificial intelligence tools are used in the preparation of a manuscript, authors must explicitly declare this use within the submitted document.
The declaration must include:
-
The name of the artificial intelligence tool used.
-
The specific purpose of its use in the manuscript preparation process.
-
Confirmation that the content generated or assisted by AI was reviewed, corrected, and validated by the authors.
An example of an acceptable statement is the following:
“Authors used artificial intelligence tools to improve the writing and clarity of the manuscript. All generated content was reviewed, corrected, and validated by the authors, who assume full responsibility for the final version of the document.”
Author responsibility.
The use of artificial intelligence tools does not exempt authors from their academic or ethical responsibilities. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content presented in the manuscript.
This responsibility includes:
-
The accuracy of the scientific information presented.
-
Proper citation of bibliographic sources.
-
The validity of research data and results.
-
Ensuring the absence of plagiarism or inappropriate automated content.
Editorial oversight.
The editorial committee may request additional clarification regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools when deemed necessary. The committee may also evaluate whether such use complies with the journal’s editorial policies.
If inappropriate use of artificial intelligence is detected that compromises scientific integrity, the journal may apply the measures established in its editorial policies, including manuscript rejection or article retraction if already published.
Commitment to scientific integrity.
The Acceso Científico Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal promotes the responsible and transparent use of emerging technologies in scientific research, encouraging practices that strengthen the quality, ethics, and reliability of academic production.
Compliance with this policy ensures that artificial intelligence tools are used as legitimate support for scientific research while preserving the intellectual responsibility of authors and the credibility of published knowledge.
